We hit a problem, so we built the thing that fixes it

Quoting laser jobs by spreadsheet was slow and error-prone, so we wrote our own quoting software. A developer here kept rearranging sentences to avoid saying a name he couldn't read, so we built an app that pronounces them. And when the software our kingdom runs on needed hands, we put ours in.

Two of these started as problems on our own bench. The third belongs to the whole Society, and we help carry it.

SaaS

NanoQuote

Turn CAD files into accurate CNC cutting quotes in under a minute.

We cut parts daily on a 2 kW fiber laser, and quoting them was the slowest part of the job — spreadsheets on one side, bloated ERP demos on the other. So we built the tool we wanted: upload a DXF or STEP file, get geometry, nesting, machine and material rates, and a quote your customer can accept from a link, without an account.

It is used every day in this shop before it is sold to anyone else. We are shop owners who answer our own support emails.

Name Phonics

Hear any name, pronounced right. Say it right the first time.

Built by a developer with dyslexia who used to rearrange whole sentences to avoid saying a name he couldn't read. Copy a name, press a hotkey, and hear it spoken by a voice native to the name's language, with a phonetic respelling you can practice.

It lives in your menu bar, works offline, and keeps your history on your own machine. No subscription, no account, no data leaving the laptop.

KMP

The Kingdom Management Platform, run by and for SCAdians.

Officers, warrants, authorizations, and awards are a real administrative load for a kingdom, and most of it used to live in spreadsheets and inboxes. KMP is the open-source platform that replaced them — and it belongs to the community, not to us.

We're proud sponsors: we put development time into it and work alongside a great team of SCAdians from across the Society. It's free, the source is public, and any kingdom can take it and run.

In the workshop

Games and small tools, coming when they're ready.

There is always something half-finished on the bench. When it works, and when we would use it ourselves, it ships here.

Got a problem worth building for?

We take on software and hardware work for people who need something that does not exist yet. Napkin sketches welcome.
