Live Oak Rapier Safety Tip – Kingdom Edition

The Live Oak Rapier Safety Tip – Kingdom Edition combines advanced multi-material construction, visible wear indication, and custom kingdom heraldry in a premium rapier tip. Designed to meet and exceed the dimensional and material requirements of the SCA Rapier Handbook (Section 13.4*), each tip is individually printed, inspected, and quality checked before shipment.

Engineered for Safety

Unlike conventional single-material tips, our Rapier Safety Tip uses multiple TPU materials strategically placed for specific functions:

• 85A TPU impact zone for flexibility and energy absorption
• 64D TPU internal puncture shield positioned behind the striking face to provide additional resistance against blade breakthrough
• Integrated multi-material construction printed as a single component

Built-In Wear Indicator

Every tip includes a highly visible warning layer positioned at the 3 mm minimum thickness specified by the SCA Rapier Handbook. As the outer material wears, the indicator layer becomes visible, providing a clear visual signal that the tip should be inspected and replaced.

Kingdom Edition Design

Kingdom Heraldry is optimized for 3d printing limitations printed directly into the tip—not painted, stickered, or applied afterward—creating a durable mark that remains visible through normal use.

We print our rapier tips individually rather than in large production batches. Every tip receives:

• Individual print monitoring
• Visual inspection
• Material bond verification
• Final quality validation prior to shipment

This process takes longer, but it allows us to maintain the consistency and quality expected of safety equipment.

Fit

These rapier tips are designed to fit many standard button-style rapier blades, including common profiles from Darkwood and Castille. They may also fit some C&T sword profiles. Compatibility with spatulated blades has not been verified.
